It is the same with fire - it all depends on how you manage it:

Client Feedback
At the beginning of the coaching process, we perform a detailed bottleneck analysis to identify the underlying issue. The bottleneck is that one factor that leads to a variety of challenges in your current day-to-day life. Many coaches only focus on the superficial challenges instead of the underlying issue. Once we have identified the bottleneck, many of the other challenges solve themselves, because they lead back to the underlying issue. And this I can say with certainty by now: it’s never what you think! Oftentimes, clients tell me “I know what the problem is. I have low self-worth.”
Well, congratulations! All of us have an issue with our self-worth, in one way or another. This makes the issue about as tangible as a reflection in a body of water. If you really want to get to the bottom of it, you need to identify how your self-worth issue shows up in your day-to-day life. Make it tangible. That’s the only way to find out where and how to start - and this is different for everyone. „Insane, I would have never come up with this one!“ or „I was not aware of any of this“ are things my clients say after we identified their bottleneck.
The bottleneck analysis helps us identify the biggest lever for improvement and sustainable change - and it keeps us from wasting time focusing on symptoms. At the same time, it provides you with maximum transparency and measurability.
“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will rule your life and you will call it fate.”
— Carl Jung
Mesource® Resilience Training
Mesource® Resilience Training
Spoiler Alert: Resilience is not a muscle that we can train and there are no universal characteristics of resilience - even if this is constantly being shouted from the rooftops. Resilience is not an innate attribute - and there is no trait that automatically safeguards us.
Resilience originates from the dynamic interplay of individual, contextual, and social factors. It is the result of flexible self-regulation.
There are 5 Types of Personal Resilience
-
From our mindset, our emotions arise. This refers to the way in which we react emotionally to events in our lives and also to the emotion regulation strategies we use.
-
We explore different contexts and situations and develop corresponding beliefs and values. Our identity continues to differentiate itself. This is where our mindset develops—the lens through which we view life.
-
From around the age of two, we begin to develop a sense of self—who we are and what defines us. Based on secure attachment, we discover the world—both real and mental.
When something happens to us in life (e.g., a breakup, getting fired), prospecting allows us to play through different futures in order to decide what to do next. This ability is especially important in times of constant change. Saying “yes” to one thing means saying “no” to another—we make conscious decisions.
-
When we come into the world, we resonate with the emotions of our most important caregivers—so the emotional climate in which we grow up during our early years is crucial. This is where our attachment patterns develop, which continue to manifest themselves in adulthood: secure attachment vs. insecure-avoidant attachment vs. insecure-ambivalent attachment. Through a shift between exploration and attachment, it is secure attachment that enables us to be flexible and is also strongly linked to the ability to regulate emotions.
-
This is about taking care of our bodies so that they can respond resiliently. This includes factors such as sleep, nutrition, exercise, and light.
Regulative flexibility develops precisely from these factors:
emotional elasticity
sense of self-worth
prospection
secure attachment
vitality

*“Wunderfitzig” is a term in the southwest region of Germany that means with “childlike curiousity”.
Instead of judging yourself and putting yourself down, I’d invite you to look at yourself (i.e. your emotions, thoughts, behaviour,…) with curiosity.
When there’s a warning light coming on in your car, do you take it to the shop to get it checked out or do you just keep driving until it’s totalled?
Take care of yourself like you would your car.
Get back in the driver’s seat and better your life!
Frequently asked questions
-
Absolutely! Stress as well as emotion management is a skill that can be trained. I am living proof! I used to be known as a hot-head, especially when I played ice-hockey. You just need to be curious and willing to actually make a change in your life. If you don’t change anything, the results will stay the same.
